Your Instincts Are Right
and there's real support waiting for you

You’ve been told the latch looks fine. You’ve tried the tips. And yet something still feels off.

You’re doing everything you can for your baby. And when feeding feels harder than it should (fussiness at the breast, gassiness, slow weight gain, or a latch that just isn’t clicking), you deserve answers that go deeper than tips.

At Milky Way, we look at the whole picture. Feeding challenges often trace back to what’s happening in the body: tension in the neck or jaw, tongue tie affecting movement, or airway and breathing patterns that make nursing uncomfortable or tiring for baby. When you understand the root cause, everything changes.

That’s the Milky Way difference.

We bring together the expertise of a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Pediatric Physical Therapist with specialized training in airway and cranial mandibular function.

Lactation Support for Common Feeding Challenges

Breastfeeding & latch struggles

Whether you're just starting out or hitting a wall after weeks of trying, we'll assess what's really getting in the way and make a plan that works for you and your baby.

Tongue tie & oral restrictions

We evaluate how tongue and oral function affect feeding mechanics — and provide bodywork support before and after any procedures.

Reflux, gassiness & feeding discomfort

When baby seems uncomfortable during or after feeds, the answer often lives in the body. We look at tension, posture, and movement patterns that may be contributing.

Fussiness at the breast or bottle

A baby who resists feeding is often a baby in discomfort. We help families understand why — and address it at the root.

Prenatal breastfeeding preparation

The best time to build confidence is before baby arrives. We'll walk you through what to expect, help you recognize early feeding cues, and give you a personalized plan so you're ready from day one.

Bottle feeding & transition support

Whether you're introducing a bottle or transitioning from breast to bottle - we'll help you find the right approach for flow rate, pacing, and how baby is coordinating the suck-swallow-breathe pattern.

What to Expect During Your Lactation Consultation

Start with lactation

Your journey begins with a full evaluation with our IBCLC, Ericka. She'll assess your baby's latch, feeding mechanics, weight, and your breastfeeding experience from every angle — and take time to truly listen to your concerns.

Add bodywork

If Ericka identifies tension, restricted movement, or structural patterns affecting feeding, she'll bring in Dr. Juleah — our pediatric PT with specialized training in airway, cranial mandibular function, and infant manual therapy. Together, they look at the full picture.

A plan that's yours

You'll leave with a clear, personalized care plan — and a team that continues to walk alongside you. We celebrate every win and adjust as your baby grows and changes.

Lactation Consulting and Infant Wellness Services

Initial Lactation Consultation · Ericka, IBCLC

Your feeding journey starts here. Ericka conducts a thorough assessment — full health history, feeding observation, latch evaluation, and weighted feeds when appropriate — and builds a personalized care plan around what she finds. This session is unhurried. You'll leave with clarity, confidence, and a clear next step.

Whole-Body Infant Evaluation · Dr. Juleah, PT, DPT

When feeding challenges run deeper than latch technique, this evaluation finds the answers. Dr. Juleah assesses your baby's full body — tension patterns, neck and jaw mobility, cranial symmetry, oral motor function, and airway mechanics — to build the foundation for a bodywork care plan that actually addresses the root.

Integrated Feeding & Bodywork Session · Ericka & Dr. Juleah

Our most comprehensive offering. Ericka and Dr. Juleah work together in a single collaborative session, assessing both feeding mechanics and the physical patterns driving them. Ideal for complex cases — tongue tie, significant latch difficulty, reflux, or babies who've seen multiple providers without resolution. One appointment. Two expert perspectives. One cohesive plan.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Preparation · Ericka, IBCLC

The best time to build confidence is before baby arrives. Ericka walks you through what to expect in the early days, how to establish a strong latch, and what normal feeding looks like — so you're ready, informed, and supported from day one.

Dr. Juleah Cintron

Dr. Juleah Cintron, PT, DPT
Pediatric Physical Therapist

Dr. Juleah has spent over a decade helping infants thrive — and her path to Milky Way was built on one core belief: that the body tells a complete story when you know how to listen. Her specialty is the intersection of airway, breathing, cranial mandibular function, and movement — and how all of those systems shape a baby’s ability to feed comfortably. She holds advanced training in Breathe Thrive Function and Mouth Magic, and is currently pursuing her IBCLC credential. At Milky Way, she brings whole-body answers to families who are ready for more than surface-level solutions.

Why Families Choose Milky Way Infant Wellness

Feeding is a whole-body experience — and at Milky Way, we treat it that way. Our integrated model means your baby is seen by a team who communicates, collaborates, and cares. You won’t be bouncing between providers who don’t talk to each other. You’ll have one cohesive plan, built around your baby’s unique needs.

We are proud to be working toward credentialing with the Lactation Network and Wildflower Health so that our lactation services can be covered by insurance — because this kind of care should be accessible to every family who needs it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lactation Consulting

What makes Milky Way different from a regular lactation consultant?
Most lactation consultants focus on feeding mechanics — latch, positioning, supply. That’s important, and it’s where we start too. But when those pieces alone aren’t enough, there’s often something deeper happening in the body. At Milky Way, you get both an IBCLC and a Pediatric Physical Therapist with specialized training in airway, cranial mandibular function, tongue tie, and infant bodywork — all under one roof, working from one cohesive plan.
We are actively working toward credentialing with the Lactation Network and Wildflower Health, which will allow us to accept insurance for lactation consultations. In the meantime, HSA and FSA funds are often eligible for lactation and feeding support services, and we’re happy to provide documentation to support your claim. Contact us to talk through current payment options.
Not sure which service is right for you? Start with a free 15-minute discovery call. We’ll listen to what’s going on, ask a few questions, and help you find the best first step — no pressure, no commitment.
